DESCRIPTION

Great Conprote Q 101 is an easy to use skim smoothing rendering powder. When mixed with water, it is smooth,

creamy and easy applied, suited for pasting over and filling holes of prefabricated concrete and masonry surfaces

for interior and exterior. It can be painted over.

USES

Conprote Q 101 skim is recommended for use on interior or exterior vertical concrete precast or till wall,masonryor poured in place surfaces. Use to smooth any surfaces defects such as gouges or cracks of any size and shape.

SURFACE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be structurally sound, clean and free of any residue which could prevent bonding. Remove any existing sealers or paint , from release , dust dirt, oils and any other residue or weak materials. If need, mechanically clean the

surface by grinding, sanding or sand blasting. Thoroughly remove any cure and seal compounds. Weak surfaces must be removed to provide a solid and clean surface. Do not acid etch or apply solvents. Do not install in temperatures less than

50 degrees (F) or 10 degrees (C).

MIXING

  • We recommend the following tools be available, mixing bucket, steel trowel, sponge, rubber float, mixing paddle and a heavy duty drill.
  • Mix a 25 kg bag of Conprote Q101 skim coat with 8.0-9.0 liters of clean water ( or 32-36% water content) using additional water will weaken the mix and reduce the durability.
  • Add the powder to the water in the mixing container. For best results when mixing a full bag, mix with a mixing paddle and heavy duty drill to a creamy smooth consistency.
  • Do not add additional water. When mixing less than full bags, hand mix with a margin trowel vigorously until lump free for 2-3 minutes.
  • Clean all equipment immediately with water after use.

APPLICATION

  • Soak the substrate thoroughly before application.
  • Apply Conprote Q 101 Skim with a steel trowel or float.
  • Depending on the desired finish, one or more coats may be applied.
    • The surface of Conprote Q 101skim can be sanded.
    • Longer cure time may occur in thick areas and cool temperature. Cure time can be substantially shorted in warm temperatures.

Storage

Do not store in direct sunlight, store in a cool dry area. Remove air from partial bags and seal as tightly as possible.

Shelf life

12 months when stored properly.

Cleaning

Clean tools and equipment with water before drying.

APPLICATION METHODS

  • Apply with a putty knife. Dip the putty knife into water during patching will help smooth surface the flow of the surface.

Allow to dry thoroughly before sanding or over painting. For deep cracks, apply two or more applications and allow.

To dry between each layer. Tool must be cleaned with water immediately after use.

Suggested Treatment

  1. Dirt/Paint

High Pressure jet washes

  1. Paint

Remove unstable old film by high pressure jet wash or scraper whichever is appropriate.

  1. Moisture

High moisture causes paint defect.

  1. Algae/Fungus

Removed by high-pressure wash and treat with CHEMIPOL (SANIPOL-75) solution.

Rinse again with clean water and leave to dry.

  1. Oil/Grease

Clean off with mild detergent and a little solvent. Wash thoroughly to remove all trace.

DRYING TIME

  • Touch Dry (30 minutes) 30°C

Hard dry (2 hour) 30°C

OVERCOATING TIME

  • 4 Hours minimum in normal conditions

CLEANING

  • Clean all equipment immediately with water after use.
